El Questro

Another fabulous day!
Drove out to El Questro....a couple of water crossings on the way.Bought a day pass and headed up to Zebedee Springs....hot water springs.
28-32 degrees all year round.
Walked through Liverstonia palms and found people lying and sitting in multiple pools of crystal clear water.
Very warm ....it was lovely....we joined the procession from pool to pool and under the waterfall.
Tore ourselves away when our fingers and toes were wrinkley.
Nice lunch at Emma Gorge then walked up the rocky track to the pool at the base of cliffs.....lots of little clear pools as we walked upstream but the final pool took our breath away.
Steep cliffs with a small waterfall coming from the top....large deep swimming pool.
Ahhh!!!!!!
Lying on you back looking up at the water droplets falling and the ferny walls to the gorge..... beautiful.
Saw an Olive Python on our walk back down the gorge.....made Ross' day.

Another 500km across mostly treeless plains today. We are using our drums of diesel careful to avoid the highest prices across the Nullarbor...up to $2.22 a litre. We know when a Roadhouse is approaching as we can see the communications tower from 5 km away....nice to have some reception for a short time. Each Roadhouse has a golf hole....no real fairway but fancy artificial grass for the greens. Stopped at Yalata an Aboriginal Community....they are part of the tribe moved from the Maralinga Region to allow the bomb testing to go ahead...they are now spread over a wide area. The community itself is closed due to Covid risk. The caravan park has only been open for 5 months with brand new facilities and a very cherpy chatty manager.

Jerramungup

We have stopped half way to Albany. It has been a very very windy day...hot wind to begin with. We stopped at Ravensthorpe for lunch and it sounded like the roof was going to blow off! Silo art of local banksias....many of which were growing in the main Street. As we drove further it began to pour with rain and it got very cold.....decided to call it a day at Jerramungup.......everything is something up here.

Cowell

Drove 100km down the coast....crops growing...the first we have seen since the wheat fields of WA. Cowell is a small town with several nice old buildings...100 yrs +....this used to be a busy port....now a sleepy small town  Walked out along the jetty and through the mangroves. No social distancing here! It is very cold....we have got out all of our jumpers, jackets, gloves and hats!
